Frame drops with Dolphin emulator - MrEnderkiller - 07-23-2014

Hello,
I recently downloaded Dolphin emulator 4.0-2213 on my Asus ROG g750js laptop. Here are its specs :
CPU : i7 4700HQ
GPU : gtx 870m (+ intel hd graphics 4600 with Optimus)
RAM : 8 Go

I'm having a problem : whenever I try to emulate a game, the game runs smoothly at 60 fps (with auto framelimit), but I have frame drops which are annoying end even sometimes last 5 seconds. I'd like to precise that my laptop has Optimus technology so the laptop chooses between the integrated graphics and the dedicated graphics depending on the program I'm running, but I manually set it to the dedicated graphics.

I've tried both DirectX and OpenGL, but I'm experiencing the same problem on both engines.

I also have the exact same problem when using the integrated graphics, so the problem probably isn't the graphics card, but I really don't know then what causes this problem.

What do you think ? Which settings should I change ?

Here are screenshots of my current settings : http://postimg.org/gallery/5jciutja/

Thanks in advance for your answers.

That must be ShaderCache while generating. That shouldn´t happen on the second run.

EDIT: Only a small number of games need CPU-EFB access. You can check "Skip CPU to EFB access" meanwhile.

Thanks for your answer, however I am still experiencing this problem after having played my games multiple times. I will also try disabling CPU-EFB access when I have time.

Follow this guide, as it helps to make sure you're running at maximum power: https://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-unofficial-laptop-performance-guide

Also, change the fullscreen resolution to auto

Thanks for the answer. I now have another problem, but this one is really weird. On mario kart, for example, I assign the steering function to the arrow keys, but they don't work, and I can only steer using ZSQD (AZERTY keyboard, alternative to WASD), even though these keys aren't assigned to anything.

I really don't know what the problem is here. Do you have any ideas ?

Are you playing Mario Kart DD or Wii?

Wii. I should assign the left and right arrow keys to tilt forward and backward, is that right ?

Well Mario Kart Wii can use a Gamecube controller. if you have one set up and "plugged in" in the config tab, it will use said controller over an emulated Wiimote. So check your GCPad settings
