Android L 64-Bit - LittleBigStereo - 07-23-2014

Well, I recently found out about the announcement of the new version of Android, "Android L".

It has a new runtime and it's 64-bit compatible, and it's said that we'll be seeing 64-bit Android phones by the end of the year!

I'm very short on time so all I can give you is this developer preview video to show off. To those developing the Android version of Dolphin, I hope this comes to your attention!! Smile

I've already built AArch64 and x86_64 targets using the Android L NDK.
I've been working on AArch64 support in Dolphin for quite a while now.

64-bit hardware will definitely give a boost, but just an FYI the "new" runtime (ART) is already in KitKat for development purposes, and it will not speed up Dolphin because it only optimizes java and the actual emulator code is not java.

Damn, dude! Big Grin Keep up the great work! I don't know how soon we'll see phones that'll run Dolphin, but seeing as you've already built x86_64 versions using the Android L NDK, I'm already excited to see what new 64-bit phones will be running Dolphin pretty decent at the least! Though seeing that games are getting very close to full speed on the Tegra 1K, hopefully some Snapdragon phones will hit that rate, though I'm not familiar with any phones with OGL 4.4 support yet.
