Good 1150 motherboard suggestions? - linker357 - 07-21-2014

I´m trying to find a good motherboard (although not too costly) for 1150 Intel processors to fit an i3 4130 or an i7 4770k (in general so I can place a cpu better than my current i5 3570k to run Dolphin). Right now I have an ASUS p8z77-v pro which gives me fan control, sensor for cpu and motherboard temperatures, sensor for cpu frequency, and easy adjustments to increase or decrease the clock rate of my cpu among other features, however as you may know this board only supports lga1155, what would be a good way to go? It would also have to fit a Thermaltake Frio OCK cooler. I´m moving tomorrow to another city and this shop is over there so I´m looking at their catalogue online, if you could check out the boards they have it would be much simpler as I could more easily buy it (the website is in spanish but you can basically see all of the motherboards they have) http://www.tiendaakiba.com/partes-de-computador/motherboards-intel?page=1

Realistically, any motherboard is good. It depends on how much you want to spend, what kind of features you want/need on the mobo, ports, slots, etc.
That site has a nice selection of mobos. Personally I'd stick to looking at MSI, ASUS, and GIGABYTE. You generally hear positive things about those manufacturers most. GIGABYTE is a good place to start imo.

I need something that comes as close as possible to the p8z77-v pro (wi-fi, AI Suite program, etc)

That Asus board is not that good . Though it costs 174$ , it still use low-mid range onboard audio (Realtek ALC892) , the entire board looks so cheap to me . MSI Killer LAN (Qualcomm Killer E2205) beats it
Either Asrock Z97 Extreme 4 or MSI Z97 G45 will do . Those 2 boards have top of the line onboard audio chipset (Realtek ALC1150) that is on par with a decent sound card . Asrock board uses gold-plated Japanese caps which have super long lifespan , MSI board has Killer LAN
Still want to spend a bit more on mobo ? Asrock Z97 Extreme 6 or MSI Z97 Gaming 7 then

I like how that looks..

But I can't figure out why the heck it has two ethernet ports

RE: Good 1150 motherboard suggestions? - linker357 - 07-24-2014

I would suppose one is a normal ethernet port and the other one is the one that supports their Killer E2200 Game Networking, which features better online standards and connection compared to conventional ports.

I don't even bother . With $345 price tag , I could buy a better CPU (i7 4790k) or a better GPU
Btw , i7 4790k is the first 4GHz CPU from Intel (4.4GHz with turbo boost) . So even if you don't overclock it , it still be fast enough for 98% games . Once you OC it , it will break 5.0GHz barrier (5.5GHz on air , 6.4GHz with LN2)
