I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro with 2.5 Ghz Intel i5 processor, and has 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 of memory. Also any tricks to specific settings to maximize performance on this computer?

It's not a gaming laptop with latest CPU/GPU . So it will not run most games well
Depending on the game , you may find some games are playable with your laptop , some games are not
Your laptop lacks of dedicated GPU , you will not be able to run game at high resolution . In most case , you will have to stick with 1.5x Internal Resolution
Windows is the fastest OS for Dolphin , you should install it via bootcamp then follow the laptop performance guide
