Using Save Files - Szeiden - 04-03-2009
I spent the last hour looking around Google and this forum and I can't find another thread on this topic (sorry if there is one, I really couldn't find it).
So, my question is the following. How do I use Gamecube save files downloaded from the internet? I have save files in .raw .gci and some other formats and I can't figure out where to put them to get the corresponding game to recognize and load the save. At first I thought it was in Dolphin/User/GC and I was just supposed to rename and paste the .raw file over one of the memory cards, but that didn't work. I also tried messing around with the Memcard manager under tools in Dolphin...
Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

First To y guess, is play the game until you save. Then Look in the GC memcard thing, and see whats the name and see if you can save it separately, rename the one you downloaded to that of what you dumped, and then Upload it to the GC card mamanger thing

You'll have to import the gci or corresponding save file using the memory card manager, then fixing the checksum. Be aware that there is a risk of corrupting the memory card so it is wise to backup the memory card to another location before attempting this.
Also not all saves for games will work when importing and as mentioned can corrupt the memory card.

Okay thanks, but my problem is actually a little different. I already have my save file (I want to use my save file for SSBM since I already unlocked everything except 6 trophies and don't want to have to do it all again). My problem is that after I load my .gci file onto my computer, I don't know how to use it with Dolphin. When I use memcard manager and try to browse for the .gci file, I am unable to load it. The only file types memcard manager lets me browse for are .gcp and .raw files. For this reason, I also tried downloading a .raw save file for SSBM from a thread on this site. I am able to open that file when I browse for "Memory Card A" in memcard manager. However, after I have loaded the .raw file, I don't know what to do. I have five options.
1. Fix checksum 2. Import GCI 3. Export GCI 4. Convert GCI 5. Delete
However, none of the options seem to do anything when I click on them. I also tried right clicking the .raw file in memcard manager and choosing the options via that method. Again, nothing seems to happen. I can uncheck the already checked options, but am unable to check any of the unchecked options like "Set as default Memcard A".
Again, all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. =)
