RE: Soooo... fired up the N64 emulator he other day - Seik - 07-02-2014 I wonder if, at this point, it would give a better experience playing Zelda OoT via Dolphin (via one of the two GC collectors) or via PJ64. I just tried Kirby 64 via Kirby Collection on Wii an it was a fantastic experience. EDIT: You know what, I have some free time, I'm going to rip it, test it (Zelda:Master Quest first) and be right back. Are both this version and the Collection with Majora's Mask and the two NES games emulate it the same way? EDIT2: Pretty much the exact same thing, too bad the GC version never made a better use of the hardware to have a better framerate. Not even close. It's terribly inaccurate. RE: Soooo... fired up the N64 emulator he other day - JMC47 - 07-03-2014 It runs a few games very mediocrely; even SM64 isn't emulated all that well. RE: Soooo... fired up the N64 emulator he other day - RachelB - 07-03-2014 Mediocre is about as good as it gets on n64 vc. It's pretty bad. RE: Soooo... fired up the N64 emulator he other day - Shonumi - 07-03-2014 I only have a few VC titles (SM64 not being one of them), but I am highly interested in the shortcuts Nintendo took. Please do tell people (not just SM64, others too). RE: Soooo... fired up the N64 emulator he other day - JMC47 - 07-03-2014 For Mario 64: I'm 99% sure they don't emulate Mario 64's vanish cap properly. They do not even try to emulate lag. VC lag happens, which is new lag that happens at parts of the game that doesn't lag, it's random, and can lock up your controls during said lag. SNES/NES VC games do have lag emulated (albeit not completely accurately) and can be considered emulated eons better. RE: Soooo... fired up the N64 emulator he other day - ulao - 07-03-2014 The only advantage VC has over PC emulation for n64 is Nintendo made it. Other then that it can not possibly emulate 64 games that well. Did the Wii-U attempt a virtual console? Mario Golf too. Only problem is RDP emulation. In the meantime you can use the software rasterizer done by angrylion, if you can put up with 20-40 VI/sec |
