Only the Haswell's can handle them because of how they play videos or something in the background it's silly.

Eh.. IR4x ridiculously high for a Nvidia gtx 780ti..? Not true. Even with my AMD 7950 I can easily choose IR4x with lots of games; Windwaker and MarioKart Wii are no exception. So the 780ti should have no problem at all with it; which shows in the graphs, because it doesn't seem to run at "full speed".. Core clock = 653mhz and memory clock = 405mhz. Core should have a boost clock of around 925mhz.. So it's not really flexing it muscles at all - so it seems.

Which could be part of the issue. I notice smoother framerates when I stress my GPU some more (so that it doesn't switch to lower clock-speeds, which sometimes causes a small hiccup). So you could try amping up de MSAA, so that you stress your GPU a little further. Maybe this helps? Again, with these 2 games IR4x is a piece of cake for the almight 780ti (which really is a beast).

Also, you could try re-installing your GPU drivers (a faulty uninstall can create some weird issues). Make sure to uninstall them REALLY good with DDU: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/display_driver_uninstaller_download.html

Okay Ill go ahead and give that a try. Anything that can help I will do!

4X IR is no problem for a GTX 780, sure, but it also affects the processor in certain games.

RE: Getting fps drops in most games - Saint Chewy - 06-06-2014

I just tried DDU and reinstalled my drivers - no change what so ever. Is there something else I am missing? Also @JMC47 I did lower the IR to 2x and I am still getting those drops.

RE: Getting fps drops in most games - xystus - 06-06-2014

Did you try stressing your GPU a little further by enabling MSAA? See what that does ingame?

RE: Getting fps drops in most games - Shonumi - 06-06-2014

Again, did you try setting the GPU for Maximum Performance in Nvidia's drivers? Does the speed improve when lowering the IR

@JMC47 - Even if the increased IR adds noticeable stress to a CPU, Wind Waker should not be dropping FPS like that with an i5-2500K OC'ed at his level. I had no trouble doing it myself with inferior hardware. Other games maybe, but WW is super-light. It looks like an under-utilized GPU from what GPU-Z says.

Yep.... If anyone wants to try and help me, I am running my benchmark by going from Dragon's Roost to Forest Haven

I did set it for Performance but I did notice that when I lowered the IR my GPU is literally doing nothing and I am still getting drops. So does this point to my CPU?

32bit Dolphin is a lot slower. But, your previous tests were on 64bit. Something is obviously wrong. Your computer should be able to handle it

RE: Getting fps drops in most games - Saint Chewy - 06-06-2014

Here is a Mario Kart screenshots that isnt in the menu. Now Mario Kart is crashing dolphin so I cant get any more... What is going on?

Yeah I know... thats what I was afraid of. I even bought myself a Bluetooth dongle and a usb sensor so I can play Wii for real.

Some screenies of Super Mario Galaxy

Can you try changing EFB2Ram to EFB2Texture?

Sorry for the late reply, but I did change it like you said and there is no difference at all.
