and i found the intel i5-4570 on amazon for 189.99 and free shipping so if thats an option i would really like to get it

Well, do you already have an LGA 1150 motherboard? If not, you need to get one.

I dont have anything yet, im starting completely from scratch, i just have items in my cart. i have a LGA 1150 socket mobo in my cart already.

Okay, just remember that you do not need a Z87 mobo if you don't get a K-model CPU, and it's wasteful to get a K-model CPU if not with a Z87 mobo (note: numbers for haswell).

ok, here's the link to my mobo im wanting http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00D12OASW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
will this work?

Short answer: Yes.
Long answer: It's an MSI budget board, so it's not going to be GREAT (or, really, top-safety), but it's fine.

See if you can find it for cheaper on a website like Newegg, though. Amazon likes hiking prices.

ok its the same price as amazon. Would you know if the SATA cables will be provided? or is that something ill need to buy separately?

RE: is my rig going to cut it? - kinkinkijkin - 04-03-2014

MSI always provides SATA cables with their motherboards, as far as I know. Not entirely sure, but I'm almost sure.

If you're sure you won't ever think of overclocking, you could save 20-30 bucks with the 4570. I would get the 4670K though. Here's a combo deal on newegg for $405.89 that has the 4670K, Z87 board, and 8GB of ram.

the 4670k is 229$ and the 4570 is 189$ thats a big enough difference to change my mind about the 4670k. and that price bundle is really expensive. i already have the ram and mobo i want.
