More OpenGL issues... - Celice - 08-10-2009 I've been looking around and have tried the basics. Updated drivers to newest version, and still, the latest version of Dolphin says a renderer could not be created. I have an GeForce 9800 GT, which I was sure was supported. Processors fast enough. I found that if I enable DirectX rather than OpenGL, the program simply crashes--the same happens if I stay with OpenGL but tick "Use Dual Core" or however it goes. The newest version before the latest also gives the same errors. I've tried two separate GameCube games without any luck. Any ideas? RE: More OpenGL issues... - hansenderek - 08-10-2009 try downloading a nvidia modifier for the graphics plugin...google it..then download the latest version...but dnt install it..modify it wit the program first... also in the control panel make sur extension limits or watever its called is OFF otherwise open gl will not work at all. RE: More OpenGL issues... - THELUKESTIR - 08-10-2009 um... the dx plugin sucks, dont use it... but idk why your dolphin is crashing... do you have a dual core cpu? RE: More OpenGL issues... - darkshadw - 08-10-2009 Uhhh... THELUKESTIR... It doesn't matter if u turn dual core mode on if u don't have a dual core, I tested this on my other pc with only 1 single core and 3.4 GHz, I didn't saw better performance or anything like that... Sorry my english sucks atm >.< :p But what i want to say is: Dolphin will not crash if u enable dual core when u only have 1 core
RE: More OpenGL issues... - hansenderek - 08-11-2009 post your system specs so we can help you better.. RE: More OpenGL issues... - DacoTaco - 08-11-2009 i recommend not using nvidia's latest drivers. causes opengl driver issues with glew >_> i have 186 atm. @ darkshadw : i sure did notice a difference on my old 2,4Ghz P4 (which is a single core without HT unlike my awesomeness P4 now )
RE: More OpenGL issues... - hansenderek - 08-11-2009 why shouldnt you use nvidias latest drivers? and what do you mean glew? i have the one thts listed down here RE: More OpenGL issues... - DacoTaco - 08-11-2009 (08-11-2009, 05:57 AM)hansenderek Wrote: why shouldnt you use nvidias latest drivers? and what do you mean glew?the latest driver kept trowing missing extentions to me RE: More OpenGL issues... - Godwrnch3 - 08-11-2009 Using the latest Nvidia drivers here on a GTX 260 and a BFG 9600GT OC on other rig and no issues. When installing new driver i would recommend getting Driver Sweeper. Uninstall your old driver like normal thru the uninstaller. Then boot into safe mode and run driver sweeper have it scan for leftover files of the driver your uninstalling. Clean those up and reboot normaly and install the new drivers. I know most of you know this but others dont realize how leftover files from old drivers play hell on new driver installs. RE: More OpenGL issues... - Chaoscode - 08-11-2009 try limited extensions on/off see if that helps |
