Dolphin has stopped working windows 8 - sonofabelll - 01-31-2014 Hey guys, first time posting, so Dolphin runs just fine... for about 30 minutes, then no matter what the game is, it crashes... which really really sucks. I've tried a bunch of fixes. I've moved the dolphin program out of the program files onto the desktop, I've re-installed C++, I've uninstalled and installed the lastest version of dolphin... making sure I was running the 64 bit version and everything. I also run the game as administrator.... It's not a huge deal, just a bit frustrating to have games crash on you. I've mainly been playing Lord of the rings: Return of the King, Pokemon Colloseum, and Zelda: Twilight Princess... and yes it crashes every game, every time... like I said, not a huge deal, just really frustrating. Here are my specs: Windows 8.1 (x64 bit...obviously) Intel i5-2500k quad 3.3GHZ 16gb Ram AMD Radeon HD 7900 If you need to know anything else just let me know. - Steven RE: Dolphin has stopped working windows 8 - KHg8m3r - 01-31-2014 Try these: 1) Update drivers, Windows updates, DirectX Web installer (may be missing some parts), and latest version of Visual C++ 2) Make sure under Power Management in Windows you're running in High Performance, and are plugged in to power. Also set a high performance profile under Catalyst Control Center 3) Use the OpenGL backend on one of the latest dev builds, as it is faster than D3D. The current dev build is 4.0-752 RE: Dolphin has stopped working windows 8 - sonofabelll - 01-31-2014 (01-31-2014, 03:58 PM)KHg8m3r Wrote: Try these: no clue what the OpenGL backend is, or the D3D... I'm using 4.0.2 dolphin... so is that something I need to download? RE: Dolphin has stopped working windows 8 - cyrax33 - 01-31-2014 Graphics Configuration -> General Tab -> Backend RE: Dolphin has stopped working windows 8 - sonofabelll - 02-02-2014 Thanks! Ever since I did that I've been running games just fine
