Will I get 60 FPS on SSBB? - yl-smash - 01-16-2014 60 FPS on Brawl? Going to be playing NetPlay for ProjectM. Athlon x4 760k @ 3.8GHz, Radeon 7790 GPU, 4GB RAM RE: Will I get 60 FPS on SSBB? - NaturalViolence - 01-16-2014 On netplay? No. RE: Will I get 60 FPS on SSBB? - pauldacheez - 01-16-2014 ProjectM also runs drastically slower when you use characters or costumes that aren't part of vanilla Brawl. Good luck with THAT on that Athlon. Generally, we recommend Intel CPUs with high single-/lightly-threaded performance, with our most-commonly-recommended model being the i5-4670K (preferably overclocked for the toughest games). We have a legitimate reason to hate AMD here – their single-core performance is absolute shit compared to Intel's recently (look at the Wind Waker benchmark, notice how an AMD FX 8150 at 4.5ghz == i5-2500K at 3.0ghz) and all they seem to have been doing recently is adding more goddamn cores to their CPUs. In terms of GPUs, the rule of thumb is that if turning down the stuff in Graphics > Enhancements doesn't increase the framerate, your GPU's fine. (Graphics > Hacks, on the other hand, definitely affects CPU-bound things as well. Don't mix those up.) Usually people who build their own gaming rigs have much more than enough horsepower and know well enough how to finagle the graphics settings, so you probably don't need help there. Your GPU's fine for full speed at at least 3x Internal Resolution; past that, fuck if I know, I'm not a GPU benchmarker and the fastest thing I own is an Intel HD 3000. In terms of RAM, 4 GB is enough and you really shouldn't fucking care beyond that since it has nearly zero effect on Dolphin performance. RE: Will I get 60 FPS on SSBB? - JMC47 - 01-17-2014 They were asking about Dualcore Netplay, which only uses about 20% more CPU than offline. The answer would be a resounding maybe and depends on stage. |
