Desktop specs : Intel Core I3-2125 CPU @ 3.30GHz (4CPUs), ~3.3GHz 4GB RAM AMD Radeon HD 6570 Window 7 o.o Thankyouuu anyway ! RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - DJBarry004 - 01-07-2014 Both will run Xenoblade, but the i7 will get it faster than the i3. RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - NaturalViolence - 01-07-2014 ishadows Wrote:Any graphically difference or gaming experience on playing Wii games between dolphin emulator and Wii U?? Dolphin will produce dramatically better image quality, allow you to use any input device you want, allow you to easily record gameplay with 3rd party applications, and at least half a dozen other advantages that I'm too lazy to type out. Your laptop will run the game much better. Your desktop might not get fullspeed everywhere. Wondering if it will do better maybe at maximum speed as in no lags like play using Wii? Lenovo Ideapad Y510p SLI specs : 4th gen intel Core i7-4700MQ processor 2.40GHZ ~3.40GHZ Windows 8 NVIDIA GeForce GT750M + NVIDIA GeForce GT750M RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - admin89 - 01-08-2014 Dolphin doesn't support : dual CPU , dual GPU , SLI , Crossfire Only 1 CPU and 1 GPU are used . You're just going to waste money for nothing And there are still many PC games that don't support them either . Keep in mind that Dolphin is even more hardcore than Prime95 torture test : Integrated GPU + CPU = 50->70 degree celsius Single Dedicated GPU + CPU = 70->105 degree celsius Dual dedicated GPU + CPU = Boom! (A true gaming laptop has dual fansink : 1 for CPU and 1 for GPU . Your label "gaming laptop" or whatever it is has only 1 fansink for both CPU and GPU . Did you think your laptop cooling unit would be strong enough to handle the heat that Dolphin cause if Dolphin really supported dual GPU ? ) RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - cyrax33 - 01-08-2014 Unless he upgrades to thermal compound I've yet to reach maximum temperatures (85+ degrees) on my laptop since getting it back in December and I'm afraid to prolonging it in the future it is something I'll definitely consider. Maximum temp I've gotten so far reach according to RealTemp is 69-70 degrees during demanding games like Xenoblade.
RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - admin89 - 01-08-2014 You're using an integrated GPU which has at least 7 times lower power consumption than a low-end dedicated GPU such as GT 630M (35W) . So it's imposible for you to reach that temp unless your current thermal compound is dead A GT 750M power consumption is about 37W which mean it will run hotter than GT 630M . Dual GT 750M = 37x2 = 74W Higher power consumption = more heat output If Dolphin did run on both GPU , only thermal compound made from holy water and diamond could save him lol RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - cyrax33 - 01-08-2014 ya holy water and prey that it won't catch on fire RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - ishadows - 01-08-2014 (01-08-2014, 03:44 AM)admin89 Wrote: You're using an integrated GPU which has at least 7 times lower power consumption than a low-end dedicated GPU such as GT 630M (35W) . Planning to stick with MSI laptop as they have better cooling system compared to Lenovo Y510p? Need some advice for choosing MSI laptop for dolphin to run at full speed.. MSI GE60 2OD vs MSI GE60 2OC The specs are totally same except the graphic card It's NVIDIA GeForce GTX76M0 2GB GDDR5 vs GT 750M 2GB GDDR5 Does it have much difference for dolphin emulator?? Wondering if GT 750M can runs Xenoblade Chronicles at full speed ,just wanted to save some budgets.. Thankyouu anyway
RE: Is this laptop good enough or any more suggestion? - admin89 - 01-08-2014 Dolphin is an emulator , not a PC game which desperately need GPU horsepower Emulating a game is almost like running VMware (virtual machine) , you need more CPU power to have better speed A better GPU can handle higher resolution in Dolphin and that's all |
