Really, that's worse than apple, and apple at least puts together a decent product. Not even close to apple levels of price inflation. Back in high school I once did a business project/powerpoint presentation where in one of my slides I compared the cost overhead of different PC manufacturers. I did this by customizing builds with identical specs from each company at various price points, comparing their price against the total parts value, and averaging them together. HP was 25%, dell was 40%, alienware was 60%, apple was 110%. Note Alienware had not yet been bought by Dell at this point. Their prices have actually gone down comparatively since then. A lot of my friends at the time had apple computers so I really enjoyed that project .@Everyone I haven't seen a system throttle at a temperature as low as 70C is a long time (pentium 4 era). The OP needs to check his clock rates to verify that it is indeed throttling. kinkinkijkin Wrote:3D modeling is handled by the GPU. Depends on the program and what exactly you're doing. A lot of stuff is still done on the cpu. And it tends to stress the cpu a lot even for things that rely heavily on the gpu as well. What are you going on about? Why are you insinuating that we prefer Apple over other companies and brands? And who is Y.O.U? A new pop band? An evil organization? At any rate, you've won yourself a warning. Try to follow the rules when posting. RE: Got an Alienware M18x R2... - NaturalViolence - 02-07-2014 Perhaps he was referring to this? And not understanding that I was using the data to make fun of apple users for how overpriced their products are. Woah there bad boy. Watch your language. Well, in any case, My MSI GE40 which has the Intel Core i7 4702MQ Handles Dolphin @ 80-85 degrees Celsius without throttling (4 cores @ 2.9 GHz and remember, It's hell'a hot here in the Philippines!). I don't think that notebook chips would be logical to be throttled at a ridiculously low 70-ish degrees when most mobile chips idle at 40-55 degrees Celsius. o.O |
