Gamecube microphone sensitivity - Yzzzid - 01-05-2014

Hi everyone,

So I suddently decided these holidays to dust off my old DK bongos and play some Donkey Konga on dolphin...

I managed to configure nearly everything and connect the bongos by USB adapter, but i have a really annoying problem with the microphone / in game hand clap. Microphone sensitivity seems to be far too high as the game is registering constant clapping, which of course really interfer with gameplay.

Anyone have any ideas of why this is happening and how to fix it? No luck searching online...

What i already tried and didn't work :

Another DK bongos set, same issue
Completely silent room to see if it was caused by ambient noise

Thanks !

Try turning down the microphone recording volume from your operating system's settings. Dolphin does not have a lot of configurability for the emulated microphone.

That didn't work. I had to plug in a mic to access the levels setting, but no luck.

Win8 audio control are pretty barebone. I seem to remember a global slider in XP...

So after giving up for a while, i tried it again today, and finally fixed my problem.

Figured i should post it, in case anyone have the same issue.

By default, clapping over the bongo while configuring R-Analog in the gamepad config put "Axis Yr-" as input, with a default level really high (not sure how else to put it, sorry).
That was what caused the constant activation.

By manually right clicking the R-Analog config, i could set it to "Axis Yr-+". The level was much lower, so i was able to adjust threshold to activate only when needed.

Just found this thread. Been struggling all morning.

What threshold did you use, it's better than it was but still claps occasionally.
