Is my laptop good enough? - senegal206 - 01-04-2014

Hey guys, i was just curious if my laptop is good enough for the emulator..
because when i tried to play the games were very laggy..

Intel® Core® i7-3630QM (2,4 GHz)
AMD HD 7670M gDDR3 1GB Hybrid
6GB RAM 1600 MHZ

so is my laptop too bad or do i have bad settings?

Depending on the game , most games shold run ok if the CPU run at 3.1GHz or higher and GPU run at maximum clock speed . Demanding games won't run full speed , some games are unplayable with that CPU
Make sure you read laptop performance guide

Using one of the latest dev builds, use the OpenGL backend. Besides just general speed improvements, the dev builds are faster with OpenGL due to some added speed enhancements.
Also make sure that all your drivers are up to date, check windows update, run DirectX web updater, and get the latest version of visual c++.
Then make sure you're computer is in high performance mode under Power Management for Windows and in a high performance profile in Catalyst Control Center, and have your laptop plugged into power.

Check your temperatures and clock rates to rule out throttling.
