Is there a way to turn off the BGM in games? - shiftryistheman - 12-22-2013 I want to listen to music while playing dolphin (Mario Kart Wii), but I want to turn off the background music while still keeping the sound effects, so I can still know what's going on in the race. Is this even possible? RE: Is there a way to turn off the BGM in games? - pauldacheez - 12-22-2013 This would require either game-specific hacks/AR cheats or really awful DSP emulation. We used to have the latter, and even then it didn't break *every* game's music. RE: Is there a way to turn off the BGM in games? - Qaazavaca Qaanic - 12-22-2013 For MKWii, you can replace the BRSTMs and then patch the BRSAR. (Hack the rom to blank out the audio files) RE: Is there a way to turn off the BGM in games? - Shonumi - 12-22-2013 Technically, the Zelda ucode differentiates between music and sound effects, so it would be possible to hack Dolphin's HLE implementation to produce silence for the relevant samples. A potentially buggier method would be to set the status of a sound as "Off" whenever the ucode indicates the sound being processed is music. There aren't a lot of Zelda ucode games, in comparison to AX ucode games though. RE: Is there a way to turn off the BGM in games? - shiftryistheman - 12-22-2013 I found a cheat code don't worry haha.
