Nexus 7 Test? - NSixtyFoee - 12-19-2013

Hello there,
I was seeing if anyone had any luck with the Nexus 7 2013 make. I'll be getting one soon, and wanted to see if the Dolphin Emulator was able to run fairly if at all.
thanks in advance

If you're expecting to play games at a reasonable speed or level-of-bugginess, please don't. This is the equivalent of running Dolphin on a netbook, whereas it currently requires an overclocked mid-to-high-end desktop CPU.

That said, it should be one of the best current ARM/Android devices for running Dolphin. Which isn't saying much since they're all netbook-speed anyway.

I have tried running Luigi's Mansion on my Google Nexus 7 2013 and it was very slow. I have played around with the settings but I can't make it go any faster. I also tried Super Mario Sunshine. The fact is the Nexus 7 2013 tablet is not capable of running the Dolphin Emulator. It only runs at 1 frame per second. Although it would be possible to save your game state and load it up each time instead of waiting for 15 minutes for the game to load. One time I eventually got into the gameplay but it was the biggest delay I have ever seen, only running at 1 FPS.

EDIT: The game runs faster now since I changed a few settings, it takes a bit to get right. You can ask me for the settings I have, or you can have a look around on the forums.

False the snapdragon S4 pro is vastly outdated and has some of the slowest GPU drivers in the mobile space.  It's actually one of the worst right now for dolphin, and games will barely start let alone get anywhere near usable speeds.
