GCpad Config Issues (SSBB Wavedashing) - klutz - 12-17-2013 I'm currently using dolphin 4.0 with a 3 in 1 magicjoybox (mayflash) and official gamecube controller for the SOLE purpose of playing super smash bros brawl. I doubt my gcpad configuration is correct but all the buttons/control sticks seem to work fine independently but when I attempt to wavedash the controller wont input the directional command of air doding after jumping, which is necessary for wavedashing. Even when I ONLY attempt to give a directional command while air dodging (moving the control stick while pressing R or L) the character stays static and air dodges in the air right above the place it jumped from. My controller does not want to register the second step (control stick directional command) I'd appreciate any help or insight about my problem. Thank you! RE: GCpad Config Issues (SSBB Wavedashing) - Billiard26 - 12-17-2013 You might have to increase the dead zone. RE: GCpad Config Issues (SSBB Wavedashing) - pauldacheez - 12-18-2013 I'm sure you're already well-aware of this, but, uh, wavedashing isn't a thing in vanilla Brawl. Unless you're using that one Gecko cheat (which may or may not be working in Dolphin – plenty of cheats don't, for some reason), playing Project M, or actually just playing Melee, of course. http://www.ssbwiki.com/Wavedashing And, yeah, a dead zone of 0 is gonna make the game register stick movement when it's at its neutral position. I'd say a minimum of 5 or 10 is necessary, or however much it takes for a red dot to not appear in there when you flick the stick. For the shoulder buttons your config may be a bit off – make sure that the digital (clicky) part of the button isn't being triggered immediately with any bit of pressure on the analog part, but only when you push all the way down until it clicks. (Protip: Right-click the button for quite a few more options.) For the sticks, if the red dots for the sticks don't reach the very edges of that grey octagon, you'll want to decrease the radius until they do. Your config looks fine otherwise, assuming all the buttons work. |
