Need to improve FPS on gamecube games - manu1433 - 12-06-2013

I've searched your forums trying to find a solution as to why I can't run gamccube games at better frame rates. Mario Kart Double Dash and Windwaker both stay at around 30fps. I can't get them to improve.

Help?

I'm using an i5 dell inspiron se with a GT 650m

also using the latest version of dolphin from this site

You are aware that Wind Waker (And Double Dash in some modes) only run at 30 fps, right?

i wasn't aware of that with windwaker

but i watched my buddy run double dash at 60 fps

i'm pretty much a noob with gamcube emulation and the dolphin emulator though

If they're both stuck at 30 fps solid; there's a chance that you set the framelimiter to 30 in the options.

Click "Options" and go to the configuration tab and confirm that framelimiter is on "auto"

well...double dash definitely goes slightly over...hasn't been above 32 or 33 though

the frame limiter is indeed set on auto

i also set my nvidia control panel to were dolphin would run through the 650m and it made no difference

Show us what your other settings look like but it seems your CPU is just not fast enough for this game. In comparison to Zelda WW, that's pretty "light", Double Dash is a bit more demanding

Out of curiosity, can you specify your Inspiron model? It´s just for research (and probably help you).Tongue

Since you are using 4.0.2, I´ll get it and test Mario Kart DD. Will tell you my results later.

(oh hell no, that editor ninja´d me again...)Confused

I'm using a 3230m

You specified the CPU model (i5-3230M), but you still have to specify the laptop model (inspiron SE 15R, SE 17R...).

Just in case, does your machine looks like this? (It´s an image of the SE 15R).
