Why cant I run DK Country Returns? - ryanodd - 12-02-2013 Hi, I made an account just to ask: Why does this game lag for me so mcuh? Other games run just fine, and DK runs at 40 fps at times. It may not sound that bad, but the music slows down unbearably and inconsistently. Is there a setting I can change to make it perform better? The audio also crackles horribly, and while LLE fixes this, it makes the makes the game run pretty much in slow-motion. What's going on? Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium intel i7 2600K-3.40GHz NVidia EVGA GeForce GTX 660Ti Kingston Hyperx 8GB Ram EDIT: The other games aren't running fine, either. The issue is that whenever the game gets too demanding for the PC to handle, the game actually slows down to compensate, instead of just losing some fps. The games are all in slow motion, and I still don't know what's going on. Any help would be appreciated. RE: Why cant I run DK Country Returns? - Billiard26 - 12-02-2013 I suggest you try disabling V-Sync, using the OpenGL backend and lowering the internal resolution. RE: Why cant I run DK Country Returns? - pauldacheez - 12-02-2013 OpenGL with "Vertex Streaming Hack" checked is a free speedup on Nvidia GPUs – use it. The audio crackles are likely caused by having the OpenAL latency too low; increase it until you get no crackling. (Though, if that's the issue, I dunno why LLE would fix it...) Other than that, you'd probably want to overclock. The i7-2600K is decent for Dolphin at stock clocks, but when heavily overclocked it can run pretty much everything at full speed. (Well, maybe not everything. It used to be able to, but Dolphin's been getting slower and slower as time goes on.) |
