Good enough to run Metroid Prime? - DOS4dinner - 08-04-2009 Is my machine good enough to run the original Metroid Prime? Pentium D 3.2 ghz 1 gig RAM Geforce 9500 GT 512 Ubuntu 9.04 Dolphin compiled from latest SVN I know my machine is on the weak side, so I'm not expecting 720p awesomeness, but would it be playable? Sorry if I posted this in the wrong spot/posted a million times; the help forum linked in the rules appeared to be dead (well, at least no posts in the last 3 months). RE: Good enough to run Metroid Prime? - hansenderek - 08-04-2009 idk if your ram would be able to play it... but you could just give it a try...i just finished it and it decided to crash...3 times in a row at the same exact spot...says something bout a tlb error or sumthing but yea..lol RE: Good enough to run Metroid Prime? - abfab126 - 08-04-2009 Im sure Daco will be excited by your CPU ,Dolphin wont ! ^^ RE: Good enough to run Metroid Prime? - The King - 08-04-2009 abfab126 is right, Pentium D are crap, even if you overclock them to 4 Ghz^^ That won't give you high fps... Quote:I know my machine is on the weak side, so I'm not expecting 720p awesomeness, but would it be playable? Afaik the Resolution is not so important in dolphin on most systems. I don't even get one lame fps when setting down the resolution to native. So you may easily get 720p, but actually not awesomeness because of the speed. RE: Good enough to run Metroid Prime? - abfab126 - 08-04-2009 I didnt say it s crap , but depending on where you live (south of france for me ) you can mostly fry an egg on this 3.2PentiumDs ! Mostly, I'm just trying to figure out if it's worth my time to go through the process of installing the homebrew channel and making archival copies of my games. RE: Good enough to run Metroid Prime? - abfab126 - 08-04-2009 OK YOUR PROC IS ...great ... AND YOUR MONITORS ARE ... nice ! Just kidding + myself bought a Pentium 920D like 2 weeks before CDuo came out ^^ ( 3 years ago ) , so everybody can make mistake ^^(lol again ) |
