Best linux for Dolphin? - InStars - 07-29-2009 Hello, I'm going to install second OS specially for dolphin. Since my main OS is Windows Vista x64 and I heard that linux performs OpenGL better than windows. So which linux should I chose? I'm planning to use it only for Dolphin. RE: Best linux for Dolphin? - rene mauricio - 07-30-2009 Are you sure you want to do that? Well I guess it could not hurt if you are interested in giving Linux a shot. Anyway, I find that the best 'versions' of Linux are Debian based. Ubuntu is really popular, but I prefer Mint Linux instead. Mint is based on Ubuntu but it has a slicker GUI. RE: Best linux for Dolphin? - InStars - 07-31-2009 Unfortunately my attempt to run Dolphin on Linux was unsuccesful. I had problems installing display driver for my Ati Radeon HD 3870 X2. I tried different guides, but still - display crashes at startup. BTW I was using Ubuntu, updated to latest version ofcourse. And then in some forum i read a post that ati linux driver doesn't support HD 3870 X2 at all. >.< RE: Best linux for Dolphin? - rene mauricio - 07-31-2009 Have you given this a shot? http://albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html It may not support the 'two' cards, but it may make it run as a single 3870. |
