RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - turtlefu - 07-25-2013 I just want to comment on this: I was under the impression that if you have a really awesome GPU, and you output in HD, the game will look better. But from that screenshot alone, I think the poor textures and jaggies EVERYWHERE almost makes me feel like the native Wii resolution is a little better... Obviously this is true for some games (I've seen Baten Kaitos looks amazing in HD, for example, all smooth), but for some others there doesn't seem to be a huge difference. The better GPU won't smooth out the jaggies that much, even with AA, it seems. Or am I wrong? It would be cool to see some comparison shots. RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - admin89 - 07-25-2013 Since his native resolution is 3840x2160 , he must use 3xIR + 4xSSAA (~6xIR) at least or 4xIR + 4xSSAA (~8xIR) . He should use the stable 3.5 to make sure SSAA isn't broken (It does every time ) Internal Resolution < Native res -> Jaggies EVERYWHERE Internal Resolution must be higher than native res if you want sharp/smooth texture (due to downscaling) RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - turtlefu - 07-25-2013 Ah sorry, I was confused. The screenshot posted is actually WITHOUT AA. Okay, then I wonder what it looks like WITH AA... must be really smooth then, right? RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - NaturalViolence - 07-25-2013 Yes. Also it helps make your posts less confusing when you quote the things you're talking about (in this case the screenshot) so that we don't have to figure out what/where it is. With a fast GPU you will be able to crank up the IR. If you do that any game is going to look amazing. Some games have higher than native IR disabled for compatibility reasons but it's pretty rare. RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - nsahawks7 - 07-25-2013 Don't get the Titan, price performance wise it's awful. The 760 or the 770 are your best bet. 760 is a bit more powerful than the 7950 and the 770 is better than both of them by a good bit. RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - CryZENx - 07-25-2013 one screenshot with SSAAx4, with SSAAx9 crashed instant http://www.pic-upload.de/view-20169790/SSAAx4.jpg.html RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - DatKid20 - 07-25-2013 (07-25-2013, 04:49 AM)nsahawks7 Wrote: Don't get the Titan, price performance wise it's awful.Wouldn't a 670 be better than a 770 because a 770 is just a factory oc'd 680 with turbo boost 2.0? You could just oc the 670 and get the same fps. RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - NaturalViolence - 07-25-2013 You could also overclock the 770 and get even better fps. RE: Best card to get highest resolution/AA/AF - admin89 - 07-25-2013 GTX 770 is faster than GTX 680 and cost about the same as GTX 670 GTX 670 can't compete with GTX 770 , overclock or not |
