Slow games - axel_016 - 06-09-2013

Hi, how are you? Sorry for bother you. I'm using Dolphin. Games like Luigi's Mansion runs well, but in others like Pokemon Colosseum I'm experiencing a slow game (70/80% in Menu and 50/60% in-game).

I want to know if my problem is my Video Card or my Memory Ram. And if that's the problem, I'd like to know what I would need to buy to run all Gamecube games perfectly.

My PC Features
Procesor: AMD Sempron 145, 2682 MHz (14 x 192)
Mother's Chipset: AMD 760G/780G/780V/785G/790GX, AMD K10
RAM: 2048 MB (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)
Video: ATI Radeon HD 5450 (1024 MB)
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate 32bits
Dolphin Version: Dolphin v3.5-367

Regards and thank you very much in advice!

You have an ancient single core CPU ....
Dolphin requirement
Though that dolphin requirement is kinda outdated . An AMD Phenom II x4 955 will struggle in many games but it should help you realize how demanding Dolphin is

Your processor is your problem. Unlike PC games that are GPU dependent Dolphin is more CPU dependent. You need something more beefy than what you've got.

Update to something more recent here

And make sure your drivers are up to date when updating the dolphin version. The newest version is faster only if your drivers are up to date, otherwise it's slower.

While it's definitely nice to have the latest Dolphin version and it's always a good idea to use up-to-date drivers, nothing is going to allow that processor to run games at full speed. He's going to need an entire new PC. Even that video card is not going to get the job done.

RE: Slow games - axel_016 - 06-10-2013

OK. I'll change my CPU processor and update my Dolphin.

An Intel Core I5 3570 will work well?

My ATI Radeon HD 5450 will work fine? It will change anything if I change it for an Amd Radeon Hd 6570 2gb Ddr3 Ati?

Because I'd like to play Wii Games too.

Thank you very much!

RE: Slow games - Zee530 - 06-10-2013

Yeah, an i5-3570k would do very well once overclocked, the new i5-4670k is also a choice, the 6570 can handle 2.5 to 3x IR in most games
