Title Screen Plays In Game Sounds And Freezes - Animal Crossing: City Folk - DekaBlue - 06-03-2013

Hey everyone!

I am using Dolphin 3.5 and when I load up Animal Crossing: City Folk, the title screen immediately freezes and begins to play a bunch of in-game sounds (the waves crashing on the beach, emotion sounds, etc.)

I've checked all of my settings against the wiki page and otherwise have not edited any settings. Is this a known issue?

Windows 7 x64
4GB RAM
Onboard Audio Card (Toshiba Satellite laptop)

Thank you for your time!

Try getting the latest revision if you don't have it. What revision are you using?

Try reinstalling Dolphin and backing up youre Memcards and Wii saves.

Wii saves are located in ~\Dolphin\User\Wii\title\00010000\52555545\data

GC memcards are locared in ~\Dolphin\User\GC

Also, if you're 2noob, this is the latest revision. Download according to your operating system bit number
x86 = 32 bit btw.

If you reinstall like I said it should work, and if not, tell me what your DSP settings are if you still have sound issues.

Hmmm now it's black screening and freezing. *searches the previous threads to see if there's a solution*

Hmm, are you booting from a disc or an iso? It could be the game and not the emulator.

If it's a disc, and you haven't modified the disc, it's the emulator, or possibly your computer. What are your specs btw?

Also, if it's an iso, try ripping it again.

DekaBlue, make sure that the dump of your game is correct. You can use a free tool to generate an MD5 hash (google around for one). Once you get that hash, compare it with one from a verified working copy. Go to GameTDB.com and look up Animal Crossing:City Folk for your region (NTSC-U, NTSC-J, or PAL). If your hash matches theirs, your file's good. If it doesn't match, redump/rerip your game from the disc.

Like a dork, I never think of using the disc itself. Only the ISO. I'm trying to run it from a game disc now.

FYI, you can't read the actual Wii game disc in Dolphin. You can read backup discs you've made yourself (which can be very slow sometimes), but if the data's the same as your ISO, it won't make a difference. Check the data integrity of your ISO using the MD5 hash. Bad dumps will give you black screens, crashes, and all sorts of trouble.
