Any recommendations? needs to be between 400-500w
then buy a geforce 9400gt for it
which is going to cost me 77$ Sad

Why would you get a 9400gt with a low power build

RE: Building new low budget pc - zurginator - 07-25-2009

I can actually build one for cheaper... Hell, I built my dad one for $100, and it'll actually run dolphin to an extent lol...

Edit: Oh hell don't get a 9400, it's the worse price/performance ratio you can get on a GPU. Go lower or higher, but DO NOT GET A 9400.

The one in your first post? Just remember to pick up the PCI version (you might have already known that)

yeah that why it's so damn expensive.
Also if u think i really shouldn't get a 9400 then should i get a Geforce 8600 or 8800?

B-Cuz, you either get a fast 8 series or a fast 9.
Don't settle for that. Smile

Also, take note of this: ^^

if it ends with 600 its price over performance
if it ends with 800 it r better get it

I've searched and searched, but i never found a good deal for any 9 series like that. Huh

the only cards i would ever buy (not ever but in general) would be a 9800, 8800, and a 260. These are good price/performance cards

RE: Building new low budget pc - cmccmc - 07-25-2009

can anyone find me a 8800 for standard PCI

Doesn't exist. PCI isn't fast enough for them.

And an 8800 will run you ~$300 USD. (And no, it's not worth it. My $200 GTX 260 completely decimates 2 of those in SLI)
