Some buttons won't work on Xbox controller - mikevr - 05-07-2013
Hello,
I'm currently playing Mario Kart Wii and the following happend: I start up Dolphin and configure a Xbox controller as Gcpad (like this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QR3N6dzzl6I). After this I started Mario Kart Wii and played for a while, but didn't notice that I can't drift. Now I noticed that I can't drift, I've tried every button but the character won't hop/drift. Does anyone has a solution? Am I forgetting something? Also the button for throwing a shell (or something else) behind you doesn't work or I didn't find it.

Drifting manually won't be possible unless you chose Manual before starting the race (protip: don't use it, it'll just make your times worse unless you're a pro at drifting). Hopping is either impossible or I never found the button for it (might require manual?), and throwing stuff behind you is done by holding Down on the control stick and pressing Y.

Just start to drift as you start turning. If it's a long corner, wiggle the steering to the left and right until you get sparks, then release for a turbo dash. Otherwise, stop drifting when you're pointing in the correct direction.
