RE: DX10 & x64 benefits? - Klotzek - 07-18-2009 Finally i've found a game which is faster on x64! Its Mario Galaxy running in first playable scene on 80 instead 40 fps. RE: x64 benefits? - cmccmc - 07-18-2009 problem solved RE: x64 benefits? - Xtreme2damax - 07-18-2009 It sounds like there's possibly an issue with your computer, in most cases the x64 builds is more stable and faster than the x86 build for me at least.. :/ RE: x64 benefits? - Klotzek - 07-18-2009 (07-18-2009, 11:20 AM)Xtreme2damax Wrote: It sounds like there's possibly an issue with your computer, in most cases the x64 builds is more stable and faster than the x86 build for me at least.. :/ Do you mean its a hard or software related problem? RE: x64 benefits? - chip1980 - 07-18-2009 I think is not a hard/soft problem, I think is just bad luck. If you tell me which games have you tested, maybe I can help you to compare. There are games that run slowly and others than don't run (MGS:TTS) on x64 builds. But in most cases x64 is faster than x86. RE: x64 benefits? - Veeeight - 07-18-2009 I can assure U that x64 builds are at least bit faster than x32, but there is question about Windows 7 generally. On XP there is no discussion that x64 is faster than x32, but I've tried on both XP and 7 x64 and performance is very similar at the begining. The problems on 7 starts when U trying to use some more advanced graphic options like AA, seems that XP drivers are doing better with that. RE: x64 benefits? - Knuckles500 - 07-19-2009 I have to agree, XP does a better job at keeping the game up at normal speeds with AA/Filtering on than Windows 7 x64 7600. The latest beta drivers from Nvidia came out like a day or so a go (190.30). Try those out and see if it's any better. I noticed that it did get a little bit better with high settings, but it can still slow down when there's a lot of things on the screen. The number one culprit that I've also noticed is vsync. I recommend turning it off for now, or let your video card's control panel to force the vsync upon your apps. Turning vsync on with fullscreen can make the game crawl on its knees. To give you an idea of my PC, here's a brief look: Windows 7 x64 7600 Nvidia GeForce 9800 GTX+ (overclocked - 780/2000/2400) CPU - Wolfdale Intel Core 2 E8400 3.00GHZ (Overclocked to 4.2GHZ) 4GB Memory RE: x64 benefits? - Klotzek - 07-19-2009 Just a quick question, how come my Windows 7 is called build 7100 and yours 7600? I downloaded it fresh a few days ago from microsoft and installed all updates. I don't remember exactly ![]() Your version is supported by Microsoft and his not, but his version has more features. I think I heard the 7600 will be the comercial one
