i5 3570k 4.2GHz ~ i5 2500k @ 4.5GHz

RE: Worth waiting for Haswell? - Tetris - 06-07-2013

Thanks, two years ago I wanted to buy a SB and overclok it to 4.5 GHz but now I will get the same results without overclocking hehe. Great =)

????
i5-4670K=3400mhz
i5-2500K=3400mhz
the hz of cpu is absolutely the same
in essence you would not have lost nothing special if u have bought sb before

Iceman is right. This year Intel just released the 2500K again, they just renamed it 4670K for fun. Confused

Right because the same operating clock rate means the chip is the same.....

RE: Worth waiting for Haswell? - storm20200 - 06-08-2013

Yeah....clock speed isn't the biggest factor in performance, I'd be willing to bet a 1.5GHz Ivy Bridge Core i3 would perform better than a Pentium D at 3GHz despite having halve the clock speed.

Both will suck with Dolphin anyway Big Grin

For sure.

A core 2 duo at 1.5 GHz would outperform a pentium D at 3 GHz. An ivy bridge core i2 at 1.5GHz would easily outperform a pentium D at 4.5GHz.

Another soul saved from the clock speed myth.

He was likely kidding. It's a completely different microarchitecture.
