Or,if you could still keep 60 fps with framelimit off, then it would mean this is gpu related. RE: Is more then geforce 460/560 required even for 1x Internal Resolution. - admin89 - 12-31-2012 I might figure out this problem @xcyper33 has the same speed as @rpglord , that mean @xcyper33's CPU is not at 4.5GHz when Dolphin is running (might be at 3.1GHz or sth) http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/Thread-dolphin-became-slow-after-some-days-of-use-what-could-it-be You can go to bios and disable "Intel Speed Step" or force maximum CPU speed / multiplier via ThrotleStop to make sure your CPU is at 4.5GHz all the time RE: Is more then geforce 460/560 required even for 1x Internal Resolution. - xcyper33 - 01-02-2013 Actually I don't have the same speed as rpglord, it is a little better than his, but it still isn't reaching 60fps at certain 'angels' in certain areas of the game. Also, I do not want my CPU to be running at 4.5GHz at all times, as that drastically decreases the life of a CPU. RE: Is more then geforce 460/560 required even for 1x Internal Resolution. - AnyOldName3 - 01-03-2013 With decent cooling and sensible VCore, then although it will reduce the CPU's life, it will still last long enough to be completely obsolete by the time it breaks. It should have 5-10 years life vs 10-15 years. Within 5-10 years, there's no way you'll still be using that CPU, as there'll be much better ones available. RE: Is more then geforce 460/560 required even for 1x Internal Resolution. - Xalphenos - 03-18-2013 Here are my results for this. CPU: i5 2500k both stock and OC to 4.5ghz. GPU: GTX 660 Ram: 8GB DDR3 1600 OS: Windows 8 Pro x64 Game: NTSC dolphin 3.5-1034 All tests where done on D3d9 4x IR 0 SSAA 16x AF with Per Pixel Lighting enabled. DSP LLE Stock Stock + LLE on Thread OC EFB to Texture OC EFB to Ram OC LLE on thread EFB to Texture OC LLE on Thread EFB to Ram A few notes: All the OC tests would eventually hit 59 fps if left alone long enough. I was surprised by the speed up using efb to ram. I didn't show it in the stock tests because just standing there it didn't make a difference but running through that area had less slow down with efb to ram. EFB to ram + LLE on Thread is the only way I could get 60 fps with only about a 2 fps drop running through that area, sometimes no drop depending on camera angle. RE: Is more then geforce 460/560 required even for 1x Internal Resolution. - rpglord - 03-18-2013 Thanks to contributing, this clearly shows that this is cpu bottleneck after all
