RE: Building a PC specifically for Dolphin - rpglord - 11-23-2012 I personally wouldn't bother with geforce 690, 3770k and water cooling, you can safely remove that. 690 is still a sli card, it doesnt metter it only needs one slot. As far as I know, if dolphin doesnt support SLI, it will only use half of the card. So you better bet is going with geforce 680. But even that is questionable. You said you are not concerned with money, but most people buy 670 instead of 680. There is huge difference in price, and very little difference in perfomance. You probably wont see any difference in dolphin, and you will likely pay $150 more. As for watercooling, its complicated and there is no need for it. You are better off buying closed, self sustained water cooling such as corsair h50 for example. Or you can be just fine with air cooler too. As for 3770k, you did say this is for dolphin. There is no need whatsoever to buy that cpu. You can safely buy 3570k and get same perfomance in dolphin. So to sum it up, this is what I would do, if I had the money ![]() CPU : i5 3570k Cooling: corsair h50 MB : whatever you like with z77 chipset RAM : 8 gb ddr3 atleast 1600 mhz HDD: Sata3 SSD ( make sure you read reviews and dont buy bad one ) HDD: Standard 1tb wd cavial blue or black GPU: Geforce 670 ( from msi, asus or gigabyte with their custom coolers ) Rest you can figure out, make sure you buy good psu as well.
