this happened to me too, playing on svn6880 32b dx9
after the first boss using the warp
after the whale gives you the third pearl
the solution well.. savegames like crazy and reload many times until it worked again

before fighting the giant bird when you rescue the sister
after talking to king and princess zelda cutscene
sometimes even the main savegame in memory card gives a blackscreen,
very annoying since the item hang does not always work, and the stupid zelda games does not have checkpoints, they always put you in the beggining of the dungeon, even the newer on NDS
