RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! - Duke Nukem - 12-18-2012 Anyone else with the GSdx plugin having trouble with Alt+Enter to go fullscreen? It worked as of two days ago and now it don't. It's making me crazy here. What could possible be causing this to happen? Ideas? EDIT: Scratch this post, deleting the inis folder fixed my problem. I don't know why deleting the inis folder fix it but anyway. Nothing is making any sense to me these days RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! - TheCow - 12-18-2012 No ideas here; it seems kind of random. Sometimes switching between D3D9 and D3D11 helps. But with either one, if I hit Esc while in fullscreen it gets stuck there (have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to get out). Protip: The GSdx config GUI doesn't have an option for vsync, but if you add "vsync=1" to the ini it'll work. RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ePSXe 1.8.0 still does not work well Resident Evil 2, Nightmare Creature without music, Fighting Force without music etc. for my best psx emulator is * Pcsxr-r75683 * with this perfect game with [Resident Evil 2 not crashes]-[Nightmare Creature with background music]-[Fighting Force with background music] Gran Turismo 2, Dino Crisis2, Parasite Eve 2, Final Fantasy 7,8 and 9 parch ntsc, Nightmare Creature, Fighting Force, Resident Evil 2 + 19 games but all perfect emulated. also the usb joystick pcsx2 plugin work with Pcsx perfect for 1-2 usb joystick. a gem of truth. RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! - fagoatse - 02-14-2013 Well, yeah, ePSXe is obsolete nowadays. PCSX-R does everything better and it's open-source. Of course if you're looking for accurate emulation then you have two choices: 1) XEBRA (atrocious UI, but still the most accurate, too bad its closed source and dead) 2) mednafen PSX core through RetroArch (it's pcsx based afaik, software rendering, not sure if it has already surpassed xebra or not; thanks to retroarch you can use multipass shaders, f.e CRT + NTSC, scanlines, etc.) 3) (ARM platforms) PCSX-reARMed found in RetroArch for android and pandora project. Super fast and at the same time renders pixel-perfect gfx. Speaking of gfx enhancements, they are all garbage. Stay away from any form of AA, filtering, rendering at higher res. etc, only certain shaders are acceptable. RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! - NaturalViolence - 02-15-2013 Why would you deliberately render at a lower resolution? Please don't tell me you think authenticity is more important than quality. RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! - lamedude - 02-15-2013 Its the latest fad. Original res with CRT filters. I don't think its about authenticity anymore but fitting in with the retro hipster crowd. Someone asked for a scanline filter for DeSmuME using the one VBA one as a reference on how it improved IQ. Especially 3d models on 2d backgrounds (ff VII), low polycount, etc. PSX 3D graphics are just too limited and lacking for such enhancements. If I had a CRT display i'd just hook it up to xebra and mednfen and enjoy psx the way it was meant to be played, but since I don't i have to resort to shaders. It's a subjective matter of course but it's no way comparable to n64, let alone dolphin or pcsx2 where 3D scales really well and quality gains far outweigh possible issues one may run into. RE: New ePSXe version released after 4 years! - Shonumi - 02-18-2013 Even if PSX games have low poly counts, I'd still render them at higher resolutions. Scaling by nearest neighbor or HQ2x or HQ3x is great for 2D games, but for 3D games, I'll take crisp looking models any day over any sort of scaling filter. |
