Setting the texture cache all the way to safe will have a pretty big performance impact on some games and it's totally unnecessary. It's far from a recommended solution.

Ok, now i know what you're talking about. I thought it was in catalyst or something.

I dont really see any. I'm not saying there is none but it's not like setting AA to 8

Some games need it or else there will be big glitches in text and you wont be able to read it.

But the thread i linked was talking about poor performance in 3d11, anybody knows if this was fixed? I'm leading more toward the 7870 than the gtx 660 so that's why i want to know.

Or is there any other known problem with the new cards that i should be aware of Huh

Name one game that needs it set all the way to safe (all the way left). The few games that do need it only need it set to fast or in some extremely rare cases, normal.

Find a game that does a lot of texture swapping and I promise you you will see a performance impact.

Name one game that needs it all the way to fast (all the right). So far, i haven't seen any game that isn't playable with texture cache set to safe.

True, that's because safe is the most accurate. But like I said before it can reduce performance significantly in some titles and that level of accuracy is not necessary. You really should leave it on the fast or normal setting.

Well in most of the games i play i dont really see any difference in performance from fast to safe so i just leave it to safe.

So which card runs better/without any issues with Dolphin? Can't decide between a Radeon 7870 or a Geforce 660.

Nvidia GTX 660 because

This trick does not work with AMD 7000 series . If you bought AMD 7870 , you would have to stick with Directx9 backend , not able to use Directx11
