It isn't good for anything else, and dolphin happens to be one of those things, as it couldn't thread well. So basicly what you're saying is, My Bulldozer is less effective due to the cores not working coefficently, which an i5 does better? RE: Tales of Symphonia questions. - admin89 - 04-13-2012 AMD BD : More core , less performance per core (Bulldozer is much slower than Phenom II unless you use multi-threaded app. Dolphin only use 2 core) Intel : More performance per core It will take 5 years for AMD to catch up Intel There is a bunch of topic about AMD BD , just use search function http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=22773 RE: Tales of Symphonia questions. - AnyOldName3 - 04-13-2012 Quote:My Bulldozer is less effective due to the cores not working coefficently Get rid of the coefficiently from that question and you're close to the answer. Anyhow, why can't Tales of Symphonia use HLE audio? There are some points where the game drops from full-speed in battle (certain magic attacks and boss battles) but for the most part, I don't go below 50 FPS.In Windows I´ve never dropped once. Except for the menu´s ofcourse. Quote:Audio throttling gave the same results as simply limiting it at 60.Audio Throttling is more accurate and should be used, unless you´re experiencing issues. Overclock your CPU if you wish to gain performance. Something around 4GHz or so should be good. Thanks, I'll keep it in mind, I know that Bulldozers OC easily with the stock cooler to around 4.3GHz if I'm not mistaken, will give it a try! There´s plenty of cheap CPU coolers available, which are also easy to install. With one of these, you will probably be able to get your clocks up to 4.5GHz or so. Trying it out for a minute or two, provided that you keep an eye on the temperatures should do no harm though. (Aim for temperatues < 85 degrees celsius) RE: Tales of Symphonia questions. - Akatsui - 04-13-2012 (04-13-2012, 03:59 AM)Garteal Wrote:Quote:Thanks, I'll keep it in mind, I know that Bulldozers OC easily with the stock cooler to around 4.3GHz if I'm not mistaken, will give it a try!I wouldn´t recommend overclocking with the stock coolers, as they´re not designed for overclocking. Yeah, I know, thanks! ![]() Also, just a quick question, ToS has a fairly large list of Gecko codes, but using them either refrains the game from starting, or doesn't work at all, how exactly do you use those? Dunno when I'm gonna get around to that anyway.RE: Tales of Symphonia questions. - Garteal - 04-13-2012 Quote:And that's the difference between OCing vs. staying at stock. Big Grin Dunno when I'm gonna get around to that anyway.Lol, I´m talking about when I was at stock. Should´ve made that clear. ![]() At this clock I basically have a lot of overhead. Some might not work due to being other region codes. |
