Throttle stop - jagernaut - 04-06-2012 So i was curious about throttle stop and how big of a preformance boost i may get out of it. im already at 100/100 so there is no down throttle on my CPU i was curious how MUCH you all think ill be able to OC it and if it would be worth it or not. i heard somewhere that the 1.6 / 2.9 could get to 3.2 so that means an extra 300mhz for single core so im guessing roughly 100-120mghz for dual core on my CPU. Thoughts? RE: Throttle stop - DefenderX - 04-06-2012 Actually, ThrottleStop doesn't work on my Intel Core i7-2670QM. This tool is crap in my opinion. "Overclocking"? Not possible... RE: Throttle stop - admin89 - 04-06-2012 The only tool allow you overclock CPU is SetFSB And Please Please don't make so many threads just for 1 problem Anyway , you said you CPU run at 3.2Ghz (1 core ) and 2.8Ghz(2 cores) I though you'd overclock it with Set FSB Because there is no way i7 740QM can turbo that high . 2.9Ghz (1 core) , 2.5Ghz (2 cores) , 1.8Ghz (3 or 4 cores) And i7 740qm is just 100Mhz over i7 720qm CPUZ lied to you . CPUZ display "2.9Ghz" when i'm not doing anything Pic 1 : Idle Pic 2 : Full Load |
