Can I run dolphin without directX update? - grzesmlodzian - 04-03-2012

Sorry for my english...
Hello all.
I want show my friends in school a few games on Gamecube. But i can't. There is Windows 7 Professional 64-bit. I think dolphin doesn't work because DirectX isn't updated. I think that because:
1. When i want run 32-bit version while running game or join into settings appear "Error loading Plugins/Plugin_......dll:can't read info".
2. When i want run 64-bit version while running Dolphin says that can't find binrary (now i don't know binrary's name but if it is important i can check). Of course dolphin doesn't start.

I can't install anything on shool's computers. I want run dolphin from pendrive. For example Nintendo64 emulator (Project64) work. So can i run Dolphin other way? I thinking about for example version of Dolphin which have included the most important binaries and don't need upgrade DirectX. Or any other way? Please help me.

use OpenGL, its the best

Try, Dolphin Path/User/Config open "Dolphin.ini" and set "GFXBackend = OpenGL"

There was info on making a portable version of Dolphin here though I dunno how if anyone's gotten anything working, at least recently. Unless your school has some fairly decent computers, Dolphin probably won't run too well.

Also, OpenGL, the best? Wink I wish. Objectively though, it's just another tool in the toolbox, use it when it fits the job.

Well in that thread it said to just put whatever dlls are needed in the dolphin directory, which is why I haven't done a portable build, so why I haven't done instructions for one.

I'll just go ahead and say when you have no idea what you're doing in this case you're better off just giving up on Dolphin altogether.

Pentium 4...
is FAR to old for dolphin
just give it up

Thanks all but the greatest thanks for @Shonumi Smile
In your link is next link: A portable version of Dolphin 3 emulator - With Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redis (http://forums.dolphin-emu.org/showthread.php?tid=18286) but why i cant download that? Link has expired?
Now, when i know (because you helped me) that i can put needed binaries to Dolphin's directory i can build own portable version. But how i can know which binaries Dolphin's using?

RE: Can I run dolphin without directX update? - DefenderX - 04-04-2012

The link was removed by Xtreme2damax because he thought that the download was unsafe.

to the binaries: i dunno, maybe another user can help you with this.

PS In school's computer there isn't Pentium 4. Pentium 4 is in my home computer. In school is Celeron Dual core (about 2x 2.0 GHz). When i tested dolphin on Athlon64 x2 (2x 2.4 GHz) Zelda TP (Gamecube) work good (in fast).
PS2 What does mean "dunno"? I know this is famous word but Google can't translate it. This is shortcut? Smile
