xbox360 rumble - rhlee - 04-03-2012

Hi again dolphin forums,

I just got a new Xbox 360 wireless controller.

In the GCPad config I have set up rumble and I can feel it when I test from the GPad setup that the rumble is full strength.

However in game, short duration rumbles are barely noticiable. E.g. in super mario sunshine, when the plane is landing the rumble is ok, but when mario jumps there is hardly any rumble. All you feel is a twitch. It feels as if the rumble motor is not given enough time to complete full revolutions.

If there a setting where I can increase the minimum length of the rumble? Or do I have to recompile Dolphin?

Set the rumble to use both motors. If you're only using the little one you won't feel much when you get a lot of rumble, and if you only use the big one you'll only feel more than a twitch during prolonged rumble.

That's the thing I am using both motors.

And I can feel the full force during GCPad setup, but just not in game.

Well if you want a minimum amount of rumble you'll have to program it into dolphin's source code yourself.

Getting Dolphin to compile is a pain in the arse. Will keep me busy the next few days tho.
