RE: After all these years of... - AnyOldName3 - 04-07-2012 Also people are no longer satisfied with "sorry, Mario, but the princess is in another almost identical castle". What is wanted is a difference between each session, either by not repeating much, so running out of ideas quickly, or by going for online over single player, as every opponent is then slightly different. RE: After all these years of... - DefenderX - 04-07-2012 Yeah, games with online modus.. i like them (Nintendo, why you didn't integrate an online mode in Star Fox 64 3D?! )

RE: After all these years of... - AnyOldName3 - 04-08-2012 I could do HALO Reach in 5 hours on normal. Then again I've had a lot of practice. I think the reason I could was due to the fact that I was a kid (e.g. fewer grown-up distractions) and I wasn't allowed to play games on school days for a while (that changed when I got my own Game Boy ) so the weekend was the only time for gaming for me. Also, renting games from Blockbuster was a strict week-end only kinda thing. Get the game on Saturday, had to beat it before Monday morning.(04-07-2012, 11:55 PM)Gabriel Belmont Wrote: Try complete Fallout 3 and New Vegas in 1 day, not possible for me at least. Yeah, some games just naturally have completion times longer than 24 hours, RPGs especially. I've been playing Tales of the Abyss 3D. Even blazing through the dialog (by tapping A real fast), skipping all cutscenes, and gaining 2x exp, my 2nd playthrough's already getting close to a full day's worth of gameplay. On Legendary (plus a number of skulls), I think I clock in at least 45 to 60 minutes on each mission (first one's not so long, about 30 or something like that). If you want a long Halo game, try getting the achievements for the meta-games in Halo 3. That took me a while, since I had to do it on Legendary + skulls to get a decent amount of points. The kicker is that I couldn't stop halfway through a level unless I wanted to reset the meta-game score, so I often had to play the whole level in one sitting; it's about an hour per level for me. Couldn't die too much either, as that'd lower the score. I think the "Cortana" level took me 2 hours alone, cause the Flood were super-powered on those skulls. Although, imo, the first Halo has the longest single player mode on any difficulty. That's cause Cortana drags you just about everywhere, twice. RE: After all these years of... - AnyOldName3 - 04-08-2012 I haven't really done skulls as I buy new games, and don't get much time to play them. Heh heh, yeah I know the feeling. A large part of my gaming library has only been played once (specifically those RPGs), and there's always more coming in. Dolphin and other emulators help, since I'm at my computers a lot, I sometimes pick up and replay a few. Halo games are an exception for me though. I play them all on Legendary, from Reach to 1, 2, and 3, at least once a year. It's kinda ritualistic, I guess. RE: After all these years of... - AnyOldName3 - 04-09-2012 I've only had an XBox for 15 months, so I can't say I've developed that level of ritual, however, I'm more than on track for Reach. |
