Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - Caboose - 03-30-2012 I know this has probably been brought up many times, and usually it's because the person doesn't have a strong enough computer. My computer has handled anything Ive thrown at it; oddly this is a challenge for it. Im trying to set up configurations for DSP LLE for Paper Mario: The thousand year door. every configuration I've tried has failed, I'm sure there's something I'm missing. My specs: Windows 7 64-bit AMD Phenom II Black edition 955 Quad core 3.22 Ghz AMD Radeon HD6950 2gig 4Gb Dual channel, 2000mhz nb frequency, DDR3 RAM Using Dolphin 3.0-555 I just want to have smooth framerates, and audio that wont cut out, or just stop. I'll accept any and every bit of advice. Thanks. EDIT:
RE: Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - Shonumi - 03-30-2012 Post you Dolphin settings, either as plain text or as a screen shot. Without seeing your settings, my advice is make sure to set "LLE on Thread" is enabled in your DSP settings. Also, note that LLE is more demanding than HLE since it more accurately emulates how an actual GC/Wii DSP would work. You could try an optimized build from the Development forums, like one from Lectrode, DefenderX, or ExtremeDude2. Other than that, overclocking always helps, just keep your temps in check. RE: Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - Zee530 - 03-31-2012 Use DSP on thread and overclock RE: Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - haddockd - 03-31-2012 Agreed. Keep in mind different games require different loads: they are not all equal. My computer is pretty strong, but even mine has a little lag now and then with LLE. You would need to overclock your CPU if you wanted to get smooth frame rates with LLE on all games. LLE on Thread can be used for most games that I have tried, but for some reason, I have had the game not boot with it on. I just roll with it. RE: Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - DefenderX - 03-31-2012 Afaik, LLE on thread only brings advantages if you're using an Intel CPU. I heard, that the framrate was reduced if an AMD CPU was used. RE: Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - AnyOldName3 - 03-31-2012 That wasn't always, only one person actually complained about it if memory serves, and that was in a specific game. I may have got this wrong, but the OP should see what it does, instead of disregarding it. That one person was Starscream, I think? :p That was when the busy waiting was removed to reduce CPU load in 3.0-415 iirc. If OP tries it and has issues, using a build older than that might help. But like AnyOldName said, you'll lose nothing by simply trying LLE on Thread with newer builds. RE: Need some DSP LLE help (Slow framerate) - AnyOldName3 - 03-31-2012 If it wasn't starscream it was neobrain.
