PKMN Colosseum, 5FPS? - Asatas - 03-28-2012 Hey Guys I'm trying to run PKMN Colosseum on Dolphin 3.0 (current release) . My System stems every current PC game at highest level (except Skyrim; that giant eats CPU for breakfast) so I thought it should run a GC quite well. What I got with vanilla settings were a maximum of 10 fps, more often 5 fps in-game. Messed around with the settings, didn't help. It's still as slow as with an old Vista laptop with integrated graphics, except no text bug.... Settings do recognize my gfx card I mean... SRSLY? Would appreciate any help. btw: it seems CPU is the most important variable for Dolphin; mine is a AMD PhenomII x4 955 (4x3,2GhZ) edit: yes i searched. No, I found no solution RE: PKMN Colosseum, 5FPS? - Shonumi - 03-28-2012 Modern PC games and emulators like Dolphin are two different kinds of programs. PC games depend a lot on the GPU for performance, while Dolphin needs the GPU to handle things like anti-aliasing, internal resolution, and anisotropic filtering. While some games in Dolphin are demanding on the GPU, most often the CPU contributes the most to performance, as you've researched. Modern PC games can get away with mid-range CPUs so long as the GPU is good. For Dolphin however, not so much. Post your settings, either as text or screenshots, so we can see if there's anything that you need to change. Also, try to find out your exact hardware specifications. You already have the CPU listed, but what's your GPU? Your profile says 768, but that's just a number, not a model. RE: PKMN Colosseum, 5FPS? - Starscream - 03-28-2012 Quote:When creating new threads about dolphin, always provide a) your PC specs (CPU, RAM, GPU, Operating System, ..) b) information about the Dolphin build used (version/revision, source, ..) c) Dolphin settings d) detailed description of what you're trying to do (e.g including the name of the game you tried to run). Ignoring this rule will get your thread closed and have you warned off. We don't bother to help people who are too lazy to read the rules. Closed. |
