In Config/GC make sure "Nothing" is selected for controller 1

RE: wii remotes for gamecube games - jamiehutber - 03-24-2012

amazingly fast reply Smile thanks

Ok so:
config: Gamecube Port 1: nothing, Slot a: dummy
GC: it was set to "DInput/0/Keyboard Mouse" but i clicked clear and then ok.
Wiimote: wiimote 1: connect to 1 wiimotes. input source "real wiimote"

hum i wonder if this game just doesn't support a wiimote?
whoops, its zelda wind walker
Ok so i have got it working with a wii game. Interestingly that i still need the sensory bar. I thought i didnt need this via blue. Still i'll be bring that into the room Smile

I'll be plugging away from to get it working for the wind walker

The sensor bar is just some IR lights in a stick and the real Wii uses Bluetooth (which is why Wiimotes are compatible with Bluetooth). Because a Bluetooth dongle isn't providing a source of IR light for the Wiimote, you'll still need to add it with a sensor bar.

thanks again fro the reply.

Forgive me though, i just looked at the IR bar and its connected to the wii. I don't have anything with this kind of plug/adaptor. I assume i don't need to bring the wii and have it powered on to get this working?

Or am i miss understand the problem.

Bring the wii, use a wireless one, or convert one to usb, which will require soldering, and probably changing resistors.

ye, ok i can use any IR. cheers for helping Smile

still the real reason, i want to play game cube games which don't use the wii. Any ideas on this?

I don't know if it is possible in dolphin directly, but you may be able to via glovepie. You'll have to learn some (ridiculously easy) code to do this, though. You may want to map the analogue controls to analogue controls through gloviepie, and this will be possible. If you need to know how to do this kind of stuff, download a wii muse script. Once you see that it's fairly easy to work out what you need to write to make it spit out what you want.
