how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - Tezuka - 03-15-2012 hey there i just installed dolphin 3.0 onto ubuntu, but i don't know how to get direct3d9 working on it? how do i install d3d9? ~Tezuka~ RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - admin89 - 03-15-2012 You can't . MAC and Linux use OpenGL backend Only windows can use directx backend RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - Tezuka - 03-15-2012 oh okay thanks for your help i guess that answered my que, thanks, can you lock this thread now thanks ![]() ~Tezuka~ RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - dannzen - 03-15-2012 (03-15-2012, 01:57 PM)Tezuka Wrote: oh okay thanks for your help i guess that answered my que, thanks, can you lock this thread now thanks ... Linux user without any clue about the system... you're just like a Mac User but without money RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - scummos - 03-15-2012 You could use wine, which implements Direct3D9. There's not much point in that, tough, as wine will map the Direct3D calls back to equivalent OpenGL calls, so unless you suffer from a grave bug in the dolphin OpenGL plugin which isn't in the Direct3D one, don't use it. If you want to try it neverthereless, install wine and install the Windows version of dolphin with it. Expect it to be ~20% slower, tough (in this case). (03-15-2012, 07:51 PM)dannzen Wrote: ... Everyone who's using it now started doing so one day ;p RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - neobrain - 03-15-2012 (03-15-2012, 07:51 PM)dannzen Wrote: ... I also doubt Wine is able to run 64 bit builds of Dolphin, yet. It is not necessarily any slower than running an application on windows natively. RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - ShadowFlash - 03-16-2012 Sometimes it's actually faster. In the case of Dolphin there is slowdown, about 3-20%, so it's better to run native version unless you want to test something or it's known that there's no bugs in some game with d3d9 (like Kirby shadow bug with OpenGL/D3D11) RE: how to get open3d9 on ubuntu? - Tezuka - 04-12-2012 Well I'm back using Windows 7 Ultimate again so I think I'll stick with Windows and Windows and Ubuntu is a lot better than mac
