Wii games with simple PC controller - Salvidrim - 03-10-2012 Specifically a Logitech Rumblepad 2, but the question's about pretty much any controller with no motion detection of any kind. I tried looking at other threads, but couldn't find an answer. I'm assuming some games not requiring motion (say, Fire Emblem) would be easy to emulate, but what about games primarily without motion controls, but with some? Say... DKCR, for example. Is it possible to map the Wiimote/Nunchuck buttons to a simple controller and just... play? RE: Wii games with simple PC controller - Zee530 - 03-10-2012 I dont see why not since alot of people do this, just select emulated wiimote and map the buttons in whatever manner suits you but ofcourse it wont all fit on the pad so you may have to use some combination of pad + keyboard + mouse sometimes but just make sure the more frequent controls for the game is mapped to the pad so that you rarely have to use the keyboard/mouse RE: Wii games with simple PC controller - Salvidrim - 03-10-2012 But I'm assuming the motion controls cannot be emulated without a Wiimote, eh? So games like Wii Sports wouldn't be playable at all? RE: Wii games with simple PC controller - AnyOldName3 - 03-10-2012 They could be, but it would be ridiculously awkward, and pretty boring wiggling your thumb when a tennis ball comes near. Wait, so I could emulate motion control with a joystick? I somehow cannot wrap my head around this -- a joystick moves on two axis, not full range of motion... RE: Wii games with simple PC controller - AnyOldName3 - 03-10-2012 No, but you could map the x and y to one stick, and the z to another, or even to analogue triggers if you have them. RE: Wii games with simple PC controller - Salvidrim - 03-10-2012 Hm, interesting. Well, at least I know the possibility's there.
RE: Wii games with simple PC controller - Salvidrim - 03-14-2012 After testing it out a bit (as I posted in another thread), this works like a charm for games where motion control is not the main aspect. For example: DKCR; simple controls. I simply mapped the Wiimote buttons to my gamepad, mapped all three "shake" inputs to a single button, works flawlessly!
