RE: Is AMD Athlon x3 455 @ 3.3Ghz better than Core 2 Duo e7400 @ 2.8 Ghz for Dolphin? - admin89 - 03-14-2012 I guess you missing sth : Dolphin is a dual core application Another 45nm CPU won't make any difference unless you want to stay behind the world There is a huge gap between Sandy Bridge and Phenom . For example , 3.0GHz SB will beat 4.5Ghz Phenom RE: Is AMD Athlon x3 455 @ 3.3Ghz better than Core 2 Duo e7400 @ 2.8 Ghz for Dolphin? - PaRaDoX_94 - 03-14-2012 The thing is that I don't have any money to buy another system and the i3 on my country is a LOT more expensive that in the US and the Phenom II is about 150 dollars so can please you tell me if the phenom II 1090T will make a difference or should I keep my current CPU? (not lucky unlocking the fourth core) RE: Is AMD Athlon x3 455 @ 3.3Ghz better than Core 2 Duo e7400 @ 2.8 Ghz for Dolphin? - ShadowFlash - 03-14-2012 1090T will be faster. Barely. OP would be spending lots of money for almost no improvement. An i3 would be a way better upgrade. I understand that you may not have the money but your only two logical choices are: 1. Save up more money 2. Don't bother You could also choose to waste money on a cpu that provides barely any performance improvement over your current system, but I wouldn't.
