RE: Is AMD Athlon x3 455 @ 3.3Ghz better than Core 2 Duo e7400 @ 2.8 Ghz for Dolphin? - PaRaDoX_94 - 03-10-2012 well, phenom II it is, and well I can't say I didn't screw it up, but well that's the way one can learn... and I don't mind to play at 480p in dolphin, I just want to save money instead of buying a console and games (I had one softmodded but it broke up) and its cooler to say that you play smash bros on the pc than in a console, besides you can play other games, not only the wii/gc ones RE: Is AMD Athlon x3 455 @ 3.3Ghz better than Core 2 Duo e7400 @ 2.8 Ghz for Dolphin? - NaturalViolence - 03-11-2012 Quote: im saving for a phenom II x6 (amd is much more cheaper than intel) Not really. Intel core i3 cpus are much cheaper than phenom II and perform much better with dolphin. I5 cpus cost slightly more than phenom II X6 cpus and perform wwwwaaaayyyy better. Do yourself a favor and save up for a good intel system. I was mildly annoyed to discover this, and wish I'd read into CPUs more than I did before calling myself an expert. RE: Is AMD Athlon x3 455 @ 3.3Ghz better than Core 2 Duo e7400 @ 2.8 Ghz for Dolphin? - NaturalViolence - 03-13-2012 Just get a cheap i3 system if you can't afford a good mobo + an i5 cpu.
