New SMB laggy! PLEASE HELP! - ThaBeserkHobo - 03-08-2012 Ok, I got NSMB for Dolphin, but in game I have only gotten a high of 42 fps. I wanna be able to get AT LEAST 60. I did my best to set my configurations to the optimal settings, but I'm still going slow! Is my CPU not good enough? Processor: AMD A8-3510MX with Radeon HD Graphics (4 CPUs), ~1.8 GHz 8192 MB of RAM Windows 7, 64- bit Home Edition GPU: AMD Radeon HD 6620G Approx. GPU memory: 4066 MB I had considered overclocking but I believe my GPU is integrated. I don't think I can overclock my laptop... Anyone have any suggestions? Help would be greatly appreciated. RE: New SMB laggy! PLEASE HELP! - Shonumi - 03-08-2012 I think your CPU is the issue here. NSMB isn't a particularly demanding game, but 1.8GHz is slow for Dolphin emulation. I don't believe your GPU is the problem, as people have gotten away with less (like the Intel HD 3000). There should be a way to overclock your CPU; using AMD's TurboCore, you can automatically get 2.5GHz. I think Notebook Check has some info on your CPU, though I have no idea how you would activate TurboCore. Check you BIOS for more information on that. Also, be careful when overclocking laptops. Temperature and cooling are big concerns. I don't think Real Temp works with AMD's chips, but Core Temp should do just fine if you want to monitor your CPU's temperatures. RE: New SMB laggy!
