What does it do exactly? I get a better constant FPS with it off then I do with it on.

On SSBM I get a constant 60 FPS with idle skipping off. With it on it goes between 54 and 60 constantly.

RE: Idle Skipping - Iulius - 06-10-2009

the gamecube/wii cpu does idle from time to time, probably to keep framerates on console at needed values.

Now at emulation, you can either also wait or you skip those idle times and compute instead.

This may result is too high framerates, but i dont see any reason why it should be slower. doesn't make sense at all.

Probably, the Idle Skipping in Melee goes slow...

RE: Idle Skipping - Iulius - 06-11-2009

i get around 20% more fps with idle skipping on in SSBM.

this is with "other audio off".
with it on, i get 50fps regardless of idle skipping, of course.

Now on Rev 3402 idle skipping is working correctly. Must have just been something wrong with the old rev.

R3402 seems to be faster overall. Something got ironed out there.
