Zelda Wind Waker problem - Mox - 06-01-2009

This problem happens after I follow the girl who tries to steal from the safe. When she reaches the safe there should be a “thought bubble” that floats over her head. Instead the game freezes or comes up with a TLB error.

I figured out that turning off the “fix item hang” patch will make everything work until she gives me the item, after that the game will ignore everything I press to accept the item. It’s like I pulled the plug on my controller and keyboard, the only thing I can do is close the program.

I took a screen shot with build 3288 and I also tried 3300 with no change.

System
Windows 7 build 7100 – 32bit
C2Q Q6600
2GB of ram
8800gts 640mb – 185.85

Nobody has a suggestion? I guess I'll try to carry on and not allow getting %100 completion from haunting me Tongue

yep, unfortunately this hacky patch to avoid the hang is far from stable on the PAL version (as i understand it, the NTSC version doesn't suffer this kind of problems) though it was a lot worse on earlier revs :p

In your case the only way to avoid the hang would be to run the game with the patch disabled, then use the Debugger and find the memory location that the patch writes to, and modify the thing from here.

Thank you sooooooooo much! That hack worked out great!

It was really bothering me that I couldn’t get past this part. Also I have the NTSC version, perhaps I’m just unlucky Tongue
