Having several issues with Dolphin Linux - ZLRK - 03-22-2011 Well, after many tries I came to some issues that I've not been able to workaround. First, there's a problem with configurations in general (core, plugins, profiles...). I thought they were all saved in /User. But then I copied an entire User folder from a previous build and configs didn't change at all. Then I deleted the dolphin-emu executable and the Sys and User folders, downloaded latest svn again (r7390) and did all the process again to install, hoping for a fresh installation. Same result. In my case I have the executable in /usr/local/bin and the other 2 folders in /usr/local/share/dolphin-emu. Then where are configurations stored? I also have some details with controller plugin, mentioned in my previous post about it. Could this and the other issue be due to some kind of failure/warning in the Cmake or Make steps? Finally, the ever-present low FPS. I've read of some people that Dolphin even worked better for them on Linux than on Windows. I know I should never expect readings close to fullspeed with my rig, but man, my FPS are not even stable. Ranging from 3 to maybe 28 FPS each second randomly, they're not constant. I think I once was able to make them stable but I don't remember how. I have tried many core/graphic settings combinations, but I only make Dolphin slower. I thought I'd get better performance by compiling it myself instead of using precompiled builds. Now I know I was totally wrong. It's just that I didn't want to stick back to Windows just for using Dolphin... Can you help me a bit? P.S: do you think I always type too much of details? RE: Having several issues with Dolphin Linux - neobrain - 03-22-2011 Configuration should be stored in your home directory under .dolphin-emu. RE: Having several issues with Dolphin Linux - ZLRK - 03-22-2011 Thank you. But then what is the User directory under usr/local/share for? And what about the other described issues? RE: Having several issues with Dolphin Linux - ZLRK - 03-22-2011 Help? RE: Having several issues with Dolphin Linux - wingnux - 03-23-2011 Unfortunately dolphin also runs slower on linux than win7 for me =/ I get full speed on Windows while on Linux I get about 30~40fps. |
